Malo lelei and happy Tongan language week to all Tongans who are out there. Into days blog post i will be telling you about how my family Calibrate Tongan language week. So for Tongan language week me and my family cook some of our traditional dishes. Like ,pork,ota ika,or steamed pork,octopus. So then after we finish cooking we do a family prayer before we start eating. After we finish praying we start to dig in to the food.

So this is one of or traditional dishes witch is calledpig. But if you were to pronounce it in Tongan it would
be puaka.
this is also one of our traditional dishes witch is called ota ika basically raw fish with tomatoes spring onion and pure cream.

ReplyDeleteMalo Pila. I am feeling hungry just looking at the yummy food on your post. One of my favourite dishes in the poaka and ota ika. I was lucky to be in Cook Islands last holiday and we had an umu with poaka. Mmmm MMM. Do you have many of these dishes each week or just on special occasions?
